So, I wrote a book. Yes, a book. I had just returned from 9 months of working and traveling in Western Europe and I was unemployed. TED talks became my life blood and I was feeling inspired (and like I had way too much time on my hands).
I decided to write 1000 words a day for 50 days. When I was finished, I’d take a month to edit it. That way, on January 1st, 2013, I will have written a book. Now, the idea wasn’t the crazy part. The crazy part is that I actually did it. I’m just about finished with the first draft of my book. Is it good? Not really, but the point is that I did it. I did something I could have spent the rest of my life glorifying in my head.
Now, I’ve never been one to make goals like this for myself. I spent most of my life pre-occupied with my weight and dreams that other people expected that I should have. This year I want it all to be different. This year I want to make every day worthwhile.
What am I going to do? I’m going to have a monthly challenge. Something that I have to do everyday for that entire month. I must complete the task/challenge everyday. If I miss a day I have to make it up.
I will begin January 1st, 2013. Here we go!
